Sabrina Carpenter is buzzing with excitement following her debut performance on Saturday Night Live. The 25-year-old singer took to Instagram to express her enthusiasm the day after her appearance on the show, humorously remarking, “literally working late cuz I’m a singer.”
Carpenter shared a clip of her electrifying performance of her hit single “Espresso” on the SNL stage, thanking the show for the opportunity and confessing, “I’m sooooo not chill about it and never will be.”
In addition to “Espresso,” which recently soared to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, Carpenter treated the audience to a medley of two tracks from her album “Emails I Can’t Send,” namely “Feather” and “Nonsense.” During her rendition of “Nonsense,” she showcased her improvisational skills with one of her signature NSFW outros, injecting humor into the moment.
Not limiting her presence to the musical segment, Carpenter also appeared in a Scooby-Doo-themed skit alongside host Jake Gyllenhaal, portraying the character Daphne. Despite fan speculation, the episode made no reference to the connection between Carpenter and Gyllenhaal’s mutual friend, Taylor Swift, with whom Carpenter toured during the Eras Tour.
The May 18 show marked SNL‘s season 49 finale, signaling a hiatus until the fall. Leading up to it, Vampire Weekend performed on the Maya Rudolph-hosted episode, before which Dua Lipa did double duty as musical guest and host.
Sabrina Carpenter’s dynamic debut on SNL leaves fans eagerly anticipating what’s next for the talented singer.
